After so many years in the planning, the Carrick Centre is now well and truly up and running with building work and the handover having been completed, on schedule, just before Christmas. Maybole and its wider community now have a first class facility and everyone who has used or visited the Centre has been hugely impressed. It is most heartening to all concerned that the Centre has been extremely busy since it first opened in early January.
Heartening though progress to date has been, moving into the building is just another milestone on what will be a long and challenging journey. The Centre cannot become fully operational until it is fully equipped to the high standards that have already been established. This will take a lot of money. Voluntary contributions are vitally important and the Centre continues to seek the support of the community, in its widest possible sense, by asking for donations. Any donation, large or small, is most welcome.
Voluntary donations are of huge importance to ensuring the success of the project and a number of people have already contributed generously. The project is now seeking the support of the community, in its widest possible sense,
by asking you to make a contribution and be part of creating the unique new community resource that is the Carrick Centre. All donations will be gratefully received and the names of all people contributing £20 or more will be recorded, if they so wish, in a “Book of Heritors” which will be held in the Carrick Centre and will be part of a lasting legacy. The book will be available for all those who take an interest in the history of the Carrick Centre now and in the future.
